Ductless splits systems can both cool your house in the summer and keep it warm in the winter. As the name implies, these systems don’t require ductwork to move air from the air handler to the individual rooms of your house. Instead, ductless splits are made up of two or more pieces , one (outdoor condenser) and one or more (indoor air handler). Refrigerant lines are what connects the outdoor to the indoor units.
